The Boss CE-1 is the original standalone chorus/vibrato pedal, lifted from the Roland Jazz Chorus world and made stompable. It is wide, warm, slightly noisy, and far less polite than later compact choruses. Choose it when you want the movement to feel like part of the amp rather than a shiny effect pasted on top.
