The Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz is a mid-90s analog fuzz with two aggressive fuzz modes and a separate gain boost mode. It sits closer to the Super-Fuzz/doom side of the universe than a polite vintage cleanup fuzz: octave bite, huge low-end pressure, and a tone control that can go from snarling cut to collapsed wall. Choose it when you want the amp to sound slightly worried, not when you need transparent touch sensitivity.
